The underwater themed mural was our first tackle for the Grantley Adams International Airport project, establishing the process and pacing for the other two murals.

The Process

This piece was completed between September 16th and 24th, 2019. It was the first time we were working on a piece that wasn't on a wall or upright and that posed a little bit of a challenge to how fast we painted and how sore our bodies were by the end of the entire process.

We had to be extremely careful with having paint covers and buckets on the piece just in case there was any spillage. Lucky for us all spillage that happened was on parts that were unfinished at the time and thus they were easy to wipe up or cover over.

The Sketch

For these murals, we decided to do digital sketches since it would give both us and the board an idea of what the final piece was going to look like in terms of colors, layout, and possible sea-life that would be used.
