Updated: May 31, 2020

On August 13th, 2019 Akilah Watts was contacted by a former colleague from school who proposed the job offer from their boss, she then contacted said boss to express our interest in taking on the job opportunity.

After multiple emails back and forth we set up a site visit to The Grantley Adams International Airport so we could discuss the logistics of what they were looking for and where the artworks were supposed to be hung once it was finished.

Many concepts as well as materials were put forth to the table where we discussed the merits of some of them until we concluded the 3 murals that you know today.

We then went on to discuss where we would be painting the murals seeing as it could not be done at the airport less it confuse or restrict traffic flow coming from the Gate 9 Regional departures. And that is how we ended up in one of the oldest remaining chattel houses in Bridgetown, painting 3 5ft x 20ft murals.
