#FutureSPACES pt.4 - The Voting

On November 26th, 2019 the voting via the Prime Ministers Instagram stories and Facebook page was posted. We were free to share on our social media but we were still not allowed to disclose to the general public that one of the sketches was created by us.

What...Happened?!

On the first day of voting, we won both of the Instagram story poles, but on Facebook, we were not in the lead as you can see from the image below.

When we first found out about the posts being made public 2 of us (Forde and Gibson) were working on another mural project at Bargain Village while 1 of us (Watts) was at work. We all took 2 minutes to take a look at the Facebook post and were a little nervous at the fact that we were behind. But as we made our way home at the end of the workday we noticed the votes for the stamp moving up steadily.

Throughout the whole voting process, the images were buffering so we sent out WhatsApp broadcasts and Facebook messages with both images (on their respective sides) to ask people to kindly go and vote for the one they liked best.

The Blackout

On December 1st, 2019 the post mysteriously disappeared from the Prime Ministers Facebook page so all the posts that were shared now look like the image shown below.

We were made aware on December 2nd, 2019 that although the post shut down a couple of days before it was meant to, that they would not be reposting it since they had already gotten so many votes.

On December 4th, 2019 is when we found out the unofficial news that we won. Our final percentage was around 76%.

Part 5 : #FutureSPACES- WE WON !! (coming June 29th, 2020)
