In the days leading up to painting the mural, we had an interview and photo op for the press release that was yet to come. We also started to get or images ready to be printed so that we would have them to reference when we were up on the scaffolding and not have to use our phones too much.

On December 19th, 2019 at 11:00 am we went into Virgo Communication Inc. for our interview and photo op. The interview took the format of a conversation which made the whole experience more relaxed and free. We discussed the whole process so far, how we felt about winning and what the significance the mural held for us and the general public of Barbados.
At this point, we were still keeping the fact that we won a secret but we were so excited for the press release not only because we enjoyed the interview process but because we couldn't wait to tell everyone we knew about it. We had only told those closest to us at this point (immediate family and significant others) and sworn them to secrecy as well.

We prepared some of our images by adding a grid so that we would have a general idea of where all the items would be situated on the wall and how big they would be.

We also purchased an industrial level and some rope that was around 60ft long. Taking the rope we marked off each ft of the first 25ft using masking tape and a marker.

The Tough Choices
On February 7th, 2020 we went to Berger Paints Ltd. Barbados to pick all the colors that we would be using to paint the mural. We had some tough decisions to make but we narrowed it down to the 9 colors shown below as well as the standard white and black.
The colors were then mixed and delivered to the General Post Office in Bridgetown along with primer, sealant, brushes, rollers, handheld buckets, bucket liner, and more.
